MAME 0.239 is out: "A big update for Philips CD-i emulation just made it in for this release, greatly improving the experience in a lot of games." - It looks like the new MAME version, which was released a few days ago, offers a greatly improved CD-i compatibility, thanks to support by no other than the author of CD-i Emulator, CD-i Fan. We're happy to see this, while both CD-i Emulator offerings differ in quite some ways, CD-i emulation is getting a bit better thanks to his knowledge.
In this video you can watch Mame Haze testing the new version, including some CD-i games at 3:00 onwards. You can download the new MAME version here. You can launch MAME by this command: "mame64.exe cdimono1 -cdrom "path to game\Tetris (USA, Europe).cue"" - It's also possible to change the disc image on the mame gui once it has launched. And if you want to work with software lists, then run it like this: "mame64.exe cdimono1 -cdrom linkfoe" (as example). This new version improvec for example compatibility of Mega Maze and also Quizard 3 and 4, which never fully worked in MAME before.
