While an official soundtrack of the Tetris CD-i game will not happen soon, there are more members who do their best to recreate the Tetris CD-i audio tracks as accurate as possible. Until today, nobody succeeded to obtain high quality audio files from the game, so the versions that are available on Youtube are not perfect quality. The original composer, Jim Andron, told us he is working on the contacts to get an official soundtrack published, but that seems to be more difficult than what we thought initially. To this end, CD-i member Irikachana recreated the first song of Tetris CD-i in a beautiful way, reaching an unmatched audio quality. A nice touch is also his 3D recreation of the Tetris CD-i boxart! Irikachana: "I love this song so much. Maybe I might do Level 2 (Happy) someday since that one's also really good. BTW it's a random touch for sure, but I decided to remake the Tetris pieces on the box art too because I thought that it'd be pretty fun. The game's music mostly used sounds from the Yamaha TG-77 & the Roland U-220, but there could be more. (KORG M1 maybe being a possibility??). Most of the Roland sounds I know you can find in some of their VST's they put out. If you're curious about what the original song uses, the piano, fretless bass, and vibraphone are all for sure from the Roland U-20/220. Other elements in the song (as well as other tracks) definitely use the Yamaha TG-77 synth, and some percussion from Alesis DM5 afaik. If you're curious about what gear I used in this cover, here:
- Roland XV-5080
- Roland U-20
- Roland SRX Orchestra
- Roland L-CD701
- Alesis DM5
- EastWest Bob Clearmountain Percussion & Bass
- Spectrasonics Stylus RMX"
