CD-i member Lorange27 discovered a neat piece of CD-i history in this USA CD-i catalogue. In the 'coming soon' section, they mention Donkey Kong next to the upcoming Mario & Zelda titles to be released on CD-i. It is an exciting release list with more unreleased CD-i projects, including Uninvited and Deja Vu. We also never heard of 'The Amazing Zoltam'. Lorange27: "Flipping through one of the CD-i catalogs I have and spotted this under the “Coming Soon” section. I guess this pretty much confirms that a Donkey Kong CD-i game was planned and never happened. The only other time I’ve seen it mentioned is this old print ad, which I’d conveniently forgotten actually named DK and didn’t just use his likeness in the background. It’s too bad nothing ever came of it, a DK game could’ve lent itself to the hardware very well."
