Philips excelled in the design of CD-i by offering various implementations of CD-i in other electronic equipment, like the stereo hifi set FW380i or the television combo (21TCDi30). The idea to implement a CD-i in a television was done first by the B&O CD-i system. It is often rumoured that the Philips 21TCDI30 CD-i/TV combination was never taken into production, because they are very rare. CD-i Fan found that the 21TCDI30 is a CD-i 210/40 inside a TV. It is a 21" colour TV sets with built-in CD-i player (with Digital Video capability) in the same cabinet. It is the second combo released by Philips. A little time earlier Philips also released the stereo hi-fi set with CD-i player included, do you remember that one? Both combo sets were probably distributed only in Europe. This is actually the first time an advertisement pops up about the 21TCDI30 CD-i/TV. cdifan: "I found this nice ad yesterday This one's from 1996, but I have the same ones in B&W from 1994 and 1995. I would say this ends the myth that these were never taken into production. I heard somewhere else (don't remember) that 9000 of them were made. That's probably more units then CDI 670 or CDI 740, given the serial numbers I've seen!"
