A bit like we now have "Recordstore Day" and in The Netherlands "Boekenweek" - In the Nineties the Dutch recordstores organized the "Platen10daagse" which was an event to celebrate records (LP/CD and other formats) and as a reward, an exclusive promotional disc was given away with every purchase. In 1994 and 1995, this 'Muziekkado" (the free give-away promotional CD) was in fact an interactive CD-i Ready disc: When played in a CD-i player, a video track was started. When played in an Audio CD player, the music started to play.
The 1995 edition featured a videoclip by Rene Froger and in this form, this was the final 'Muziekkado' as the series changed in 1996 onwards, but the 1994 edition actually had some nice promotional footage of CD-i. At the very end of the video, they give away the official upcoming cover of Discworld on CD-i. Discworld was announced in 1994 and it appeared in various catalogues, but in the end the CD-i version was never released. The final announcement was in 1997 in The Netherlands, so even then there was a chance the game was going to be published.
