This might look like a standard cover of Zelda's Adventure on CD-i but this is cover of the unreleased USA version of Zelda's Adventure. It could be that it was not final but it is very interesting to see the USA release of Zelda's Adventure was this close of happening. Zelda's Adventure eventually was only released in Europe but according to a USA press release by Philips Media Systems they were planning to bring Zelda's Adventure to USA in Q2 1996:
Until now we only found an original demonstration disc and while lots of them look fake, this red version is reported to be legitimate:
When we compare the cover with the European boxart of Zelda's Adventure, we see a few small differences: First the CD-i logo on the top left is what visually gives away the USA origin: All CD-i releases by Philips in USA have the CD-i logo on the top left. It's also interesting that the letters of 'Zelda's Adventure' are positioned a bit different and that the 'A' falls outside the castle area. Perhaps that is because this is an early boxart and it was not final yet. Moreover, the (r) registered trademark sign is missing.
