So many Karaoke CD-i discs! That was the first reaction when we saw this collection of rare Japanese CD-i discs by Toshiba, full of music licensed by Columbia Records. 172 discs in total. They all have the original Japanese CD-i logo on it. Also interesting is to find out if these are true CD-i's or original Karaoke CD's. CD-i member cdifan explains: "I'm interested to know if these are really CD-i format or KARAOKE-CD (precursor to VideoCD)? The latter uses separate tracks, I believe. All data tracks though, I think, so even if somewhat scratched there should be no user-level data errors... VideoCD 1.1 was the first VideoCD standard, the "1.0" version was called Karaoke-CD. If they are Karaoke-CD, they will be CD-Bridge (CD-ROM XA with a mandatory CD-i application). That's why I'm asking, would love to get my hands on a real Karaoke-CD. That's why VideoCD has an optional KARAOKE directory with a KARINFO.BIH and KARINFO.cc files."
