The 'Enkhuizer Almanak' is a pocket book with yearly editions, giving information about the upcoming year including calendar, holidays, market dates, astronomy information (time of sunset and -rise, position of the moon) and even a weather forecast. Also included are general subjects like trivia pieces and history stories about the neighbourhood and the country. It was first being printed around the 16th century, which makes it a really long-running edition. There are more of these almanac editions of other places, like Deventer and Amsterdam, but the Enkhuizer version remains one of the most popular. Since 1995, there is also a Enkhuizer Almanak museum, based in Enkhuizen of course. One of the things that you can see here is the first digital edition on CD-i: The Enkhuizer Almanak was pressed digitally in 1997, as an experiment, following modern times and thanks to the same subsidies that allowed for opening the museum.

This disc is another production by Zoutewelle Multimedia, and published independent from Philips Media in 1996.
