Tetris CD-i was so different from other Tetris versions that it inspired people to create a 'CD-i Tetris' theme in online Tetris games like Tetr.io

The online Tetr.io Tetris game works well to customize a CD-i Tetris theme and catch a bit of the CD-i vibe with it. Tetris on CD-i was pretty different from the other Tetris versions, especially thanks to the easing relaxing soundtrack and the nature-inspired backgrounds. Website Minusworld described is as following: "in this version of Tetris the area around the ‘well’ is used to display gorgeous FMV nature scenes from a variety of different locations. Serene landscapes ranging from the crystal clear spray of a waterfall to the gently drifting waves against the sands of an auburn-tinted beach at sunset create a relaxing, almost soothing Tetris experience that does a fantastic job at creating atmosphere in a game that wouldn’t normally require any. If anything, the beautiful minimalist aspect of both the game’s interface and its simple yet attractive backgrounds show a magnificent way in which the developers have built on the simplicity that lies behind the Tetris concept."

In Tetr.io, you can set the background image but we don have the original background images of Tetris CD-i. CD-i member Tweetki Punch: "This one was interesting since there's no SFX for in-game. Also I couldn't find the backgrounds on their own so I found other pictures that match the same vibe! Also if you want even more of a "vaporwave" cdi vibe, crank up the chromatic aberration in the settings"

Minusworld about the music: "The second major highlight of the CD-i Tetris experience is the music. Jim Andron’s breathtakingly relaxing soundtrack provides the perfect musical accompaniment to the game’s tranquil nature scenes and (initially) slow-paced gameplay, making this a version of Tetris that works more effectively as a relaxation method than as a game of Tetris." For now we have to set that manually, but if you manage to play this with Jim Andron's music and this nature inspired background, we think the CD-i Tetris vibe was really close!
