Big Hand Productions was given the opportunity to develop several CD-i demo discs for Philips, promoting the CD-i platform. They developed the Sampler Pack as well as an unreleased CD-i game called 'Espionage'. Power Match is another promotional CD-i about CD-i. (There's probably no other format than CD-i which had so many discs about promoting itself). Power Match is a bit different, as it is actually interactive. CD-i member Seventyy Seven archived the copy of Blazers and explained it as following: "In the top half and the bottom half are individual interactive clues
that lead you to match themes to the other half - until a match lands.
Then you'll unlock interactive media for that theme. It's a neat little
title that capitalizes on the multimedia angle - rewarding you for
successful matches."
When you count all compatible CD-i discs, including all video-cd's, CD-i bridge titles and CD-i Rainbow formats, there are thousands of discs to collect. Even today, after 20 years of CD-i researching, there are unknown CD-i titles popping up. As the CD-i community discovers so many titles lately, we are passing by all of them in a new series of chronicles on Interactive Dreams: The Rare CD-i Records.
[Thanks, Seventyy Seven, Blazers]
