Dutch based Videotronic built several professional kiosk/POS (Point of Sale) systems based on the CD-i 470 system integrated in a CRT television by Philips. These systems were used in shops, restaurants and public spaces (libraries, hospitals, for example). CD-i member Retrostuff spotted these Videotronic units which give a nice detailed look on what different types originally existed, Previously more details were shared by Muh Mullet here. We also discovered in the community a few exclusive CD-i's produced by Videotronic. At a later moment in time, the POS systems were even equipped with a touch screen. The CD-i 470 is a modified version, the front panel of the CD-i player has three extra buttons on which you can change the TV settings, including brightness, contrast and volume. I'm not sure how they did it and why they did it this way, but at least all control options are on 1 place and locked behind the Videotronic panel. The Videotronic systems also have a general on/off button on the back, which turns on the TV and the CD-i player. The original on/off button on the front of the CD-i player is taken away, as well as the front input connector. All connectors and switches are available on the back of the unit, well integrated so the Videotronic TV+CD-i works as a all-1-all player.
