In june we showed you a Korean version of Paint School on CD-i. The paint program for kids made by Spinnaker Software might the most translated CD-i title we've seen: The Preserve CD-i Blog recently dumped a Swedish version of it as well. And mind you, this means that also the cover and title was fully translated, something that only happened in the first generation of CD-i titles. We're looking here at a Swedish version, Malarskolan. It was issued in 1991, and published by Philips Interactive Media of America. That's typical, as CD-i was released in Europe in 1992.

Paint School on CD-i was a popular piece of software as it was used on quite some kiosk system that Philips promoted. Together with the Roller Controller, it offered an innovative way to entertain kids with colouring. You could draw by yourself but also color various pre-made drawings. It was a base-case title, created by the same team who also developed CD-i games like Story Machine and Sargon Chess. Spinnaker was most famous for bringing us Laser Lords on CD-i, as well as Alice in Wonderland. But their first project on CD-i was Paint School 1.
