Thunder in Paradise on CD-i was an important step for Philips Media to evolve the 'Interactive Television' development. CD-i might have been a 'failure' sales-wise but it has a few very innovative ideas that are not even thought out completely in 2020. Without CD-i it might even be that the Netflix of today would have looked different, as ideas about streaming and interactivity started in the ninetees as experiments on the CD-i platform. It was a true multimedia idea where Philips explored the future of entertainment. Like including game elements in movies, interactive cartoons (or visual novels like we know them from Japan).

Philips took its role in Thunder in Paradise CD-i very seriously, spending a huge budget on it. Do you see the film set above, do you spot the director's chair on the right? Is that....

Nice! I would love to have a chair like this!
