The GPI 1100 was basically a GPI 1200 without an LCD screen. It turned out that the small design of the portable player was ideally suitable for in-store and kiosk applications, where there was no need for the LCD screen. This 68341-based player had integrated MPEG decoding. A portable CD-i player based on the Motorola 68341 Integrated CD-i Engine not unlike the GDI 700, and with on-board Digital Video by default, making it more compact than Philips' own portable CD-i players with 9142 Docking Stations. The GPI-1200M had the same design but it had a LCD screen. That one wasre-branded by Philips as the CDI 370.
As this unit has integrated Digital Video, this might be the smallest integrated Digital Video Cartridge inside. It's smaller compared to the other portable CD-i units, that actually need a docking station that holds the (regular-sized) Digital Video Cartridge on-board!

CD-i member Zachary C. Loveall: "It's been a minute since I shared this GPi 1100 , with Case . "GPI 1100 -
Essentially a GPI 1200 without an LCD screen. Its compact design proved
ideal for in-store and kiosk applications. Based on the Motorola 68341
Integrated CD-i Engine like the GPI 1200 and GDI 700, the GPI 1100
features on-board Digital Video capability"
CD-i member Adrian Zanoli left us with an unanswered question: "Davis a Goldstar brand? All of the GPI-1100 I seen were normal GPI-1200 without the screen, this Davis one has a very unique shell design."
We never thought of Davis being a brand actually! On the back there's Goldstar, the package sais Goldstar and there is indeed also Davis on top. Was it an electronics brand?
