The LG / Goldstar GDI 750 CD-i player has a transparent viewing window to watch the CD spinning, and what kind of seal is inside the disc holder of this one?

The Goldstar GDI 750 CD-i player is a licensed version of the Philips CD-i 450 model. The players are built by Philips in Belgium and sold by LG under their Goldstar brand. Compared to the 450 model, some subtle changes have made. Cosmetically, there is a notch on the whole length to give it a different look and feel. More intersting is the viewing window that they made on the disc holder. Through this window you can actually see the CD spinning, which is a nice touch and sometimes handy to see if your player is working properly. The accessories are exactly the same, although on the back there is a Goldstar label instead of a Philips one.

This particular unit shared with us by CD-i member Lasertotal has a sealed emblem inside the disc holder. We don't think we have seen it before, but ther than a number there is nothing on it.

The menu structure is also different compared to the Philips CD-i player shell. Although it is only cosmetic: The functions are on the same place but it is cleverly designed around the interface:

[Thanks, Lasertotal]
