Another extensive and exclusive series on CD-i was published by Editiorial Planeta and developed by LAB CD-i between 1995 and 1997 in Spain: This is a 10 disc set about the history of art in Spain, on CD-i (and also on CD-ROM). In Spain perhaps one of the most productive CD-i companies was LAB CD-i, a Philips internal division, who translated several spanish versions of games like Burn:Cycle and Asterix. In Spain they received a Silver Award for "Alarma en el distrito salud" (CDi) (A medical title to help to prevent aids). One of their final tasks on CD-i was the release of "Historia del arte Español". It could be that LAB CD-i left the wings of Philips along the development time, as it is remarkable that this CD-i series was not published by Philips itself. You can find an interview with the people behind LAB CD-i right here.
The CD-i set consists of the following entries:
- La época de las catedrales
- La época de los monasterios
- Crisol de tres culturas
- Los oríneges
- La España imperial
- El ciglo de oro
- El siglo de los creadores
- La época de las revoluciones
- Imperio y religión
- El siglo de las luces
Next to this, "LAB CD-i" released in 1996 a series of discs called "Más Que Cine" (More than Cinema), a CD-i Bridge discs that functions as CD-i, Video CD and CD-ROM, so it plays in all compatible players supporting one of these formats. Next to the movie, there is also an interactive educational part (including history). These images were brought to the CD-i community by Xenon (Salva), who brought us more Spain-exclusive CD-i discs. Xenon (Salva): "I have this and I know that more titles came out. This is on on CD-i, which has the movie on two discs and an interactive / educational app. It also has music and in one of the photos you see images from the film that explain the plot with voice."You can find more on these discs here.
