Every USA CD-i release originally was supplied with a small catalogue inlay. This mainly was inserted in the original grey box packaging (used in 1991-1992). You can browse through this inlay catalogue in PDF here. In this catalogue quite some titles were announced that eventually never saw the light of day. In this way, we discovered before that Tox Runner was announced including catalogue number and also Zelda's Adventure was presented including USA catalogue number. Also the Italian exclusive CD-i game "Go" is mentioned again, being planned as a USA CD-i game as well. CD-i member Dizzy pointed us on a few other unreleased titles, that we didn observe before. For example, the Grolier Encyclopedia we showed you before as an exclusive Italian CD-i release, a USA version was planned for release in 1992-1993. That would mean a second encyclopedia in USA was planned, next to the Compton's Encyclopedia. In my opinion, the various regional CD-i encyclopedias are of extremely high value and it is, in my opinion, such a missed opportunity, not to release these in other countries. Apparently, Philips was thinking the same way (a bit, at least)!
Another interesting addition is the Gardening by Choice series on CD-i. At least, it looks like it was intended as a series although only one edition was released: Gardening by Choice: Flowers & Foliage. According to the catalogu, a second edition was planned: Gardening by Choice: Fruits & Vegetables.
CD-i member Dizzy made a great overview of cut-outs of which titles are unknown to the CD-i community (titles which remained unreleased)
We have shared with you before the discoveries of Deja Vu and Uninvited (together with the unreleased Shadowgate CD-i version) - Another three games by ICOM that never saw the light of day, unfortunately.
There are more titles inside here that do not ring a bell immediately, like the 'Library of the Future'. It could be, as we see with titles like Uptown Blues, that CD-i projects received a different title but appear to be the same CD-i software in the end. Who can spot more unreleased USA CD-i titles?
